Our Story

Long before its official launch in 2024, Open Page Productions began as a passion project - an excuse for four writers to bring bold new writing to the stage. The founding team, a spirited mix of creatives - Annie Power, Paul Kalburgi, Sian Rowland and Matt Brothers - came together to mount their first showcase at London’s Etcetera Theatre in 2014. Directed by Scott La Crass and produced by four buzzing writers, the three-week run received glowing reviews and marked the unofficial beginning of Open Page.

After that first success, Annie Power returned to the Open Page banner for a one-off piece at a scratch night, before stepping away to focus on other projects.

Fast forward to 2024: with cuts to arts funding and a creative community under strain, Annie decided it was time to reignite the company with fresh purpose, and so Open Page Productions was relaunched - ready to champion underrepresented voices, nurture new work, and put story at the heart of everything we do.

Previous Work

Bookends (2014)

Open Page's debut production in 2014 was a new writing showcase at the Etcetera Theatre, featuring four short plays.

 Alice Springs - Sian Rowland

A Novel Approach - Annie Power

Almost the Birthday Party - Paul Kalburgi

 Four O’Clock  - Matt Brothers

Future History (2015)

Future History was performed as part of a scratch night at The Cockpit Theatre for a one-off performance in 2015. It was directed by Tessa Hart, then Artistic Director of The Bread & Roses Theatre.

Future History was a satirical exploration of the sterilization of women as a means to tackle overpopulation. Set in a modern day version of Britain where state implemented sterilization has just been introduced. Performed in a non-naturalistic, Brechtian style.
